Introduction

It is our goal to tailor the needs of the individual into a group setting wherever possible and  to take into consideration the goals and requirements of each and every person. An individuals exercise goals may be simply increased fitness levels, improved health, weight loss or just pure enjoyment.
The goals of the  individual will be paramount in our planning of each day’s activities. Improvements in cardiovascular conditioning, overall strength, improved performance and feeling great should be experienced. Our group activities will be complemented by personal training and each person should take at least 2 individual sessions during the week- this will allow us to fine tune your results to time investment. If appropriate the group may be split on certain days to take your needs into account; one group may go for a strenuous hike while others may enjoy a stretch and massage session by the pool.

HIKING
Two of the most dramatic and memorable hikes in Ibiza are the hikes of Sa Talaiassa and the nearby cliffs of Santa Agnes.

Sa Talaiassa is the highest summit in Ibiza and is located near the village of San Jose in the south west of the island. The hike starts in the village and winds its way along the wooded side of the mountain gently winding its way towards the peak where wonderful views over the whole of Ibiza can be seen.
The hike can then continue through the woods passing old charcoal burning kilns toward a fertile plateau and then down an imposing hidden valley towards the beach of Es Cubells or Cala Tarida  far below. As well as offering mental stimulation, depending of the elected pace  the hike can be a demanding day for some and a shortened version is available.

The walk from the village of Santa Agnes to Penya Esbarrada and return is similar to walking in the high mountains but also with a superb costal landscape. This walk has everything from the rural setting of the countryside to the coastal hills and then on to the rock formations and costal cliffs towards the sea below. An invigorating combination of wooded areas to narrow paths, views of vertical rock, blue sea, deserted fincas, old wells and lime kilns. Together with Sa Talaissa it is the most memorable of hikes.

Both hikes can be can be gentle or strenuous dependent on the wishes of the group and the group can split into two between those that prefer either a hard hike or a tranquil stroll.

Walking throughout the island is a real pleasure either following a coastal path offering cooling breezes in the afternoon sun or walking through the countryside inland. Our walks are planned with either a picnic stop or lunch at a local restaurant with a swim or two planned in for those that wish to. Like the hikes the walks can either be gentle or strenuous dependent on the wishes of the group, the group can also split in two for those that wish to push their limits and those that prefer something far more tranquil.

Cycling or Mountain Biking is an excellent form of cardiovascular exercise and another superb way to explore the unknown and authentic image of the island. Travelling through the rural side of the island, past white peasant houses, fig trees, and orange groves provides a beautiful backdrop for a few hours of exercise. There are many routes to chose, from to the gentle to the very strenuous dependent upon personal goals.

Ibiza provides abundant choices for Swimming and Beaches  from  small quiet natural coves to long sandy beaches. For some of you it may be a very attractive option to take a dip in the sea after a 2-3 hour hike for others the location, view and relaxation is enough, the choice is yours. From the northern cove of Cala Xarraca to the golden sands of Cala Nova an excellent ending or halfway stop after a cycle or a walk.

Group Exercise Classes will be offered  throughout the week and will be based upon natural movement patterns consisting of  bending, squatting, lunging, twisting, pushing, and pulling all making full use of the natural terrain. During these sessions you will be encouraged to work to a level that is appropriate for you. Simple light movements may be your style or large powerful movement may be more up your street, we can cater and tailor the session to the individual.
 
Personal Training will be available for the whole week and you should take at least 2 of these sessions. This time may be spent working on areas of your choice or on issues which have cropped up during your assessment or simply a session designed to push you to your limits- our 17 years experience of this type of work allows us to respond to almost any given situation.

The meditative and physical benefits of Yoga are long documented. We will be offering 2 beginner’s sessions during the week as a taster to this type of mind body exercise. Es Cucons offers the perfect setting to this type of activity.

Massage
After a day of exercise, nothing is more relaxing to the mind and the muscles than a therapeutic massage in a beautiful outdoor location (weather permitting). After walking or cycling for a few hours the muscles may feel knotted, hold tension  or just feel uncomfortable.  Time for a massage!

Running or Jogging
Running in Ibiza is an experience not to be forgotten, the best times to run are in the morning or evening avoiding the highest temperatures and when the sun is at its most powerful. Running on old caminos takes you through the gentle Ibiza countryside of rolling hills, pine trees, fig trees and past grazing sheep and goats. Runs in Ibiza can be tailored to be very demanding or a gentle jog depending on abilities.
